SARAH'S EXPERIENCE . OLAY REGENERIST THERMAL MINI PEEL

'I bought the Olay Regenerist Thermal Mini-Peel because I was looking for an affordable and convenient at-home facial peel. After reading glowing reviews on the product I knew I had to try it out myself. However, to much disappointment, the product didn't deliver the results I was expecting, and ultimately left me with an adverse skin reaction. After doing a bit of online research I discovered that the product contains glycolic acid, which my skin apparently doesn't agree with. Although I'm unsure what percentage of glycolic acid is found within the Thermal Mini-Peel, it has now been over a week since I applied it and my skin is still reacting, despite the single use. I first noticed a rosy rash, which developed on my cheeks immediately after I applied the peel, but thankfully the rash faded after a day. Unfortunately, the peel then created a bumpy texture on my cheeks and eyelids, despite not using it on the orbital region, which lasted for days. I also noticed my skin felt uncomfortably tight and there were odd wrinkles that formed around my eyes.

I've since read quite a few reviews online from users who've had a similar experience to mine, and I simply want to ensure that others don't go through what I did. This product is essentially an over-priced self-heating scrub with little to no 'peeling' properties. If that’s what you’re looking for then it may be the perfect product for you, but those with sensitive skin beware. In the future I'll stick with a visit to the spa for a facial peel or try a more reputable product, like the Ole Henriksen line at Sephora. Overall, I'm a fan of Olay products and haven’t had a problem like this in the past. That being said I will definitely be more skeptical when buying Olay products in the future, and will ensure that glycolic acid and other harsh ingredients aren't incorporated in the product to save my skin from another experience like this one.'
